THE HEART OF CHESHIRE’S
COMMUNITY LIFE

Gladstone Village Hall, is nestled in the picturesque Cheshire countryside and hosts a sense of community and togetherness for the locals. It was constructed in the early 20th Century and is full of functionality and history since it was built. It has seen generations of residents celebrate milestones, it has hosted many events, it has engaged in communal activities. The hall, has features of its beautiful traditional design, yet over the years has had some changes made to it, making it more accommodating to our modern needs and lifestyles. As well as the spacious interior of the hall, the exterior of the community gem has been well maintained, and so we were tasked with generating an elegant design for the signage which incorporated both the modern and traditional elements of the hall.

The hall is managed by a dedicated committee of volunteers who work extremely hard to ensure that the property is upkept and maintains the community spirit. They organise a variety of events, ensuring that the community remains bustling with activity and has a social atmosphere.

The Design Process

The venue is set back from the road, meaning it’s a lovely quiet place for visitors, however it can be difficult to spot for those walking or driving by. This meant that we needed to design and manufacture a large post and panel sign and erected it close to the road near the entrance. This ensures that the sign can be seen from a great distance and helps to aid the visiting traffic in finding the hall and its entrance. The sign is made completely from aluminium, and powder coated to a colour that is considerate to its surroundings. It is finished off with white vinyl graphics applied to both sides, so that viewers passing the hall from either side can see the advertising. We chose to powder coat the sign in a simple grey colour which reflects both the modern elegance and the traditional aspects of the hall. We used a simple white font to print the writing onto the signage which ensured that the signs were fit for purpose and could be easily read by the public and visitors. Along with the main entrance sign we also designed and manufactured a directional sign and installed it on the opposite side of the road to further ensure that the public are aware of the hall's location.

The End Result

We were overjoyed to have been able to help in the design and manufacturing of the signage for Gladstone Village Hall, and be hugely inspired to be able to assist them in further aiding their community. We were hugely pleased with their reaction and that they were so impressed with their new signage. It’s hugely rewarding to be able to contribute to such help with such great causes.
